Incredible $30 Cartography Humble Bundle Represents a Virtual Tabletop GM's Dream

After a brief run earlier this year, the Map Making Mega Bundle has returned for a limited time that lasts through early December. Hailed as a "treasure trove of assets and apps" created by a specialized software company over the years, the entire collection is valued at over $1,300. Additionally, there exist multiple package options available here.

The Main Attraction

The big draw is definitely permanent access to the CC3+ software, an industry-standard mapping application that can be used to create everything from epic fantasy landscapes, smaller regional maps, urban layouts, and most notably, tactical combat environments.

Bundle Tiers

Entry Level

The most affordable option, at a minimum cost of $1, includes only four of the 39 total items: Fantasy Overland Symbol Collection, Token Treasury: Monsters 1, Castle Source Maps, and Source Maps: Cities!. This one's only for existing CC3+ users, yet it provides fresh fantasy design elements for overworld maps, more than 750 monster tokens compatible with online gaming platforms, more than two dozen top-down castle layouts including hundreds of map markers, eight fully mapped cities, and more than 70 urban floorplans.

Mid-Range Option

The eight-item bundle for at least $15 is where things get more interesting through inclusion of a lifetime CC3+ license, Cartographer's Annual Vol 1, Tome of Ultimate Mapping, Isometric Cities Symbol Pack. The Annual represents the yearly bundle from ProFantasy's ongoing subscription program which includes a variety CC3+ add-ons like map collections and various other tools. Isometric Cities lets you display cities with an extra dimension with isometric views from all sides. Meanwhile, the Mapping Tome is a 760-page for beginners and "power users" alike, packed with guidance and instructions covering cartography techniques.

Every volume from the Annual series are included here, plus numerous other resource and asset packs enabling creators to design entire planets or galaxies, or just go all-in on classic fantasy realm creation: battle maps, dungeons, urban centers, and land masses in multiple viewpoints. You can even design character illustrations. For $30 as opposed to $15, the full bundle is so worth it, especially for cartographers who have only the annual CC3+ license seeking permanent licensing. But it's obviously more advantageous for cartography beginners since it includes the beginners' tutorials to help you get started. The one caveat here though you can redeem the deal across platforms, the software is only usable on Windows.

Philanthropic Aspect

As with other Humble Bundles, a portion of each sale goes to benefit a nonprofit. For this one, the beneficiary is Save the Children, an organization founded by Eglantyne Jebb in 1919 dedicated to enhancing children's welfare globally through education, health care, and emergency relief.
