It's a challenge for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have already been conquered.

This is the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and once went over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a squad that has achieved everything.

That it took until Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, taking back their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the pitchers that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It's challenging for their batsmen to maintain a record if not afforded the opportunity.

Finally, the consequence of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to produce her newest gem.

Originally famous as the 19-year-old niece of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her country couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups held the previous year and has experienced everything through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 World Cup win arrived three months after her debut and seven international trophies have resulted from 10 tries across formats.

The gritty keeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India temporarily stopped the winning streak.

That loss "pushed us to reevaluate our levels," Healy commented earlier.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She ensured her country would not fail again.

If this latest epic knock exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Many contend the case for the pressure of a final. Different voices suggest with the challenge that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was much more difficult to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 occurred when she topped the run-scoring charts, but this innings followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in training, it has been a challenging time because I feel like I lacked timing completely," said Healy.

"But once you step out on the field, your competitive nature take over and you just lock into the contest."

Healy's competitiveness has continuously been her great strength - and an invaluable trait in taking over from legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in every game, but this time it merely gave Healy's motivation.

A single was taken off the bowler's initial ball and from that point the batsman was underway.

"A chance to take the field and lock in a contest with her and merely enjoy the moment that way, sort of got me going," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her swiftest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 as she punished short deliveries, striking 21 boundaries and three sixes.

Once she was out her side required another 66 at one run per ball - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Pursuing 330 is uncharted waters so I am glad we have the belief to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, if we do, we know we can achieve it."

That comment will be the last rival teams at this World Cup want to hear.

In recent days a sense they will win from any position has only strengthened - this triumph following success over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite being 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.

During that phase they left the prior year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a game Healy missed because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the initial instance at an important competition.

So great is her will, she afterwards commented she wished she had played despite the injury.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those injuries have pushed back thoughts of retirement, this championship is anticipated as her last as captain in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as captain.
